On The Rocks: Ryoshi | Strawberry Chūhai

Apart from sake, shochu is another favorite alcoholic beverage hailing from Japan.  And it’s quite versatile: drink it dry, on the rocks, diluted with hot water, mixed with tea or fruit juice or beer. The mild, “earthy” taste is unassuming enough that it won’t overpower other flavors. Ryoshi’s Strawberry Chuhai (35k),  is a refreshing and “laid back” drink made from a blend of shochu (Ryoshi’s own shochu brand, Sun), soda, lime, and strawberry juice. It’s a simple cocktail yet perfect for a sunny day. Kanpai!
