Hailing from Negara, Emy Triani was born into an art environment, knowing and loving art since she can remember. Her inspiration comes from her own roots in Balinese culture, poured beautifully on canvas for her beautiful, colorful and detailed works. For her, art is a wonderful thing that she shares so that it can be enjoyed together.
Brief introduction about yourself.
I was born to a father who was a painter. Since childhood, I learned to paint from my father. Then, I decided to go to the High School of Arts in Batubulan to support my artistic soul academically.
What is your greatest motivation to become an artist?
I liked to draw since I was a kid and often joined drawing competitions. I always wished to be a painter with strong character, taking a part in the art scene of Bali.
How did you first dive into the world of art?
I was introduced to the canvas in my teens. During junior high school, my first painting was on display at Pura Rambut Siwi and sold. At that very young age, I could already enjoyed my own money which I earned from selling the paintings.
What is your art’s inspiration?
I am often inspired by the activities of the Balinese people, so most of my works evolve around this traditional Balinese theme.
What characteristics would you give yourself in your works?
I always work on the theme of beauty. For me, painting is not only a condition or activity; it’s also a prayer and hope that I wish to come true.
