“The Theater of Life” showcases a collection of works by Balinese artist Wayan Gede Budayana. Exhibited at The Oberoi Bali, his works consist mainly of human faces, one next to another, filling the whole canvas. In those figures, he talks about the world of his ancestors, depicted in a modern manner, enabling him to deconstruct the stilted patterns which are inherited from tradition. This lets him not simply draw ghostly forms; he brings them to life through contours of colors that provide a pleasing contrast to the background.
