Titian Art Space is back with its latest exhibition, showcasing the works by young Balinese artist, Wayan Aris Sarmanta. Titled ‘Rebirth’, this exhibition marks the artist’s solo debut. Moreover, it also celebrates the newest chapter within the traditional techniques of the Batuan school, which last had a major shift in the 1930s. Here, the artist’s latest works unequivocally demonstrate the new path he has undertaken since his first major group exhibition in 2013 at the Museum Puri Lukisan. While maintaining traditional Batuan technique, he has also added elements of social and political change around him into his works.
