Artotel Sanur, collaborating with Rumah Sanur, presents a group exhibition entitled “Modern Myth”. The concept is inspired by the fact that Indonesia has 17,000 islands, complete with the myths. Some mythological creatures are known to live in the past, while some of them are believed to be still very much alive in the present. From this idea, three visual artists are challenged to share mythological stories of their homelands, using their own contemporary styles and personal touches to connect it to today’s modern life.
