Drawing on Novel | Now – December 7 | Bentara Budaya Bali

Themed “Drawing on Novel”, the exhibition was initiated by Balinese artist, Wayan Sujana Suklu, displaying his works as the results of his ‘creative meeting’ with a number of literary works. These literary works did not only encourage his interest in reading, but also trigger him to create works. After more than fifteen years of processing and conducting various explorations, the artist believes that novels contain a challenge to be presented as a medium of artistic expression. On these novels, he explores the visual forms by drawing. The forms depicted are imaginative figures that overflow from his unconsciousness.
