After more than 20 years of adventure in Yogyakarta, now is the time for Palguna to get his feet back on the land of Gods, Bali. The artist, born in Ubud in 1976, is currently holding a solo exhibition entitled “Coming Home: Momentary Lapse” which showcases his 20 paintings and five statues made in 2018. In Komaneka Fine Art Gallery, Palguna’s work speaks in light and simple imagery, but actually embraces a high degree of complexity. The intelligence of the artist is in expressing a complicated sense of his presence again in his homeland with a language that appears harmonious. Criticism, protest and anger are packaged onto a poetic surface.
